I have always wanted to see Hawaii ever since I was a little boy, and now finally, my wife and I have our dream vacation planned to go there at the end of this year in December. We will be staying there for two weeks and I have been doing some reading online about how you should buy some travel insurance so that you don’t have to worry about anything going wrong on your trip. After really looking around online, and seeing some horror stories about travelers that did not have travel insurance when they went on their dream vacation, you can bet that I will be looking to get my hands on some great travel insurance when I head out there. I have even looked around at some great online sites that offer travel insurance, and the rates are really not that bad at all. Considering that anything can happen at anytime, I would much rather have travel insurance and know that I can enjoy peace of mind while on my dream vacation to Maui!

Any kind of travel or vacation should be nothing but stress free. Is this how it usually unfolds? No, but there are ways to minimize the problems of getting from point A to point B. I’m talking about cheap travel insurance. While I wouldn’t ever get it while traveling within the states, it is key to have when visiting places outside of our borders. A friend recently came back from Costa Rica. He studied abroad there while in college and took some time to visit friends native to the area after saving up the cash. His initial trip down turned into a nightmare. Since he was studying abroad, his suitcases basically had his life in them. Two of the four bags were lost in transit. The Costa Rican airport recovered one of them but not the second.

Missing dress shirts, socks, boxers and random nick-nacks, he had no one to turn to but the school and airport officials. Bureaucracy made everything move at snail’s pace. He ended being paid off but not in an amount high enough to justify the loss. Cheap travel insurance can cover these instances.

My parents have always bought travel insurance before going overseas anywhere on vacation. They were especially vigilant about buying travel insurance when my sister and I were children. As it turned out my parents were wise to get travel insurance. I vividly recall the time my parents took my sister and I to Benidorm, which is a popular resort on the Costa Blanca in Spain. My grandparents went on that trip and so did my aunt, uncle and three cousins Amanda, Alison and Joanne. On the first day there I raced my cousin Joanne up the slippery marble steps by the hotel pool. I slipped and smashed both of my incisors, which had just grown in. My parents had to take me to a dentist in Benidorm and if they had not had travel insurance then this visit could have taken a serious dent out of the spending money they had taken with them for the vacation. That was not the only accident that happened while we were on vacation. My mother once passed out in an elevator due to dehydration and she smashed her face up. Experience has taught me that accidents have a habit of happening on vacations. That is why I will never go overseas without travel insurance.

My sister just landed a new job that will have her traveling to many places for the largest part of the year and the first thing she did was look into travel insurance. My mom is an expert traveler and told my sister to make sure that she had some type of travel insurance before every trip. My friend told me of an old co-worker we used to work with and his ordeal while in the Cancun, Mexico recently. He loved Mexico and traveled down there with his wife numerous times before. This recent trip was like all their other trips to Mexico, except on this one, he got extremely ill while there. He had some sort of bad infection and he probably shouldn’t have been traveling in the first place. Needless to say, they lost all there reservations money and had to pay extra for the changing of flights, so this vacation cost them a bundle. They didn’t have cheap travel insurance. I don’t think they ever did the numerous times they have been to Mexico. He turned out to be ok, but it took him awhile to feel 100 percent. I know now that they will definitely compare travel insurance and purchase some travelers insurance for any future trips anywhere. I feel bad about his getting ill and I am sure all the money they lost, made him feel worse. Traveling anywhere these days, it pays to have travelers insurance, you just never know.

Every year, the fifth grade class at our city's intermediate school takes a trip to the nation's capitol, Washington, D.C. It is a very exciting trip for the kids and the parents get to accompany their children if they can. The trip lasts about a week and the kids get to see some of the most fascinating and exciting sites in Washington. Because the children are away from home and under the care of their teachers, the school requires that the parents provide travel and health insurance to cover their children.

When we sent our daughter on the fifth grade trip with her school, we found cheap travel insurance online that we enrolled her in and would carry her for the time that she wasn't in our care. Family vacations are a big deal in our house and we make sure we take our time and decide on the best places to go to have as much fun as possible. Whenever our family takes a vacation, we like to get additional travel insurance just in case of any unfortunate incidences. Travel insurance can cover a range of things from automobile accidents to misplaced car keys, so we feel better knowing that we have the extra insurance just in case we need it. My sister and brother in law do more traveling than anyone I know. They have made at least two huge trips every year as long as I have known them. They would never book a trip without travel insurance. This year it was put to the test. They had planned a trip to Viet Nam and were all set. They had their visas and all plans were completed. Unfortunately with all of the rain we have had, a tree fell on their house and practically destroyed it. The good news is that no one was hurt. Of course the rest of the good news is that they had travelers insurance and had no problem canceling their trip and getting their money back. Their house is now almost repaired and they will plan their new trip soon.
I am planning a trip abroad very soon and I went online and studied insurance quotes. I found them to be much better than any other insurance agencies had. I bought the best travelers insurance for my trip so I am covered just in case

I have two sets of good married friends who travel abroad every few years or so. They are all very adept on finding the best travel deals and planning their itinerary. Whether they are cruising, going to a beautiful island or sightseeing to different cities and countries, the one added cost, which they will not go without is travelers insurance. They both tell me that when you go online and compare travel insurance, you can find some cheap travel insurance. This insurance just makes your trip abroad more reassuring and one less thing to worry about. I am happy to say, neither one of my friends have ever had to use it, but this is something that they will not go without. They have heard too many of their friends who have gotten sick or had to cancel their trip because of family emergencies and lost quite a bit of money in the process. My friend Jake decided to go backpacking through Europe. For the last two years of college, Jake had been saving to go on a trek through Europe. As the day came closer to flying out of the country and into a completely different continent, Jake began to plan out his trip. Fortunately, he took out travel insurance. Travel insurance is intended to cover financial and medical expenses and other losses during travel. Jake loves to live on the edge; however, his parents convinced him that it would be a smart idea to take out travel insurance.

Travel insurance was a smart decision. Jake ended up breaking his ankle during a drunken evening clubbing in London. From the time I started traveling out of country I have always made sure I had travel insurance. It just made sense to me to spend a little money to insure I did not have to spend a lot if something went wrong. I have yet to have to use it, but I don’t consider it money wasted. Over the years I have known too many people who did not buy travel insurance and paid the price. For some reason people who have all the reason to buy travel insurance don’t. It is like they think nothing is going to happen because they are on vacation. Even knowing they have a pending health issue they don’t buy the insurance they need. One lady I know decided to save a few dollars by not buying insurance. She spent all but the first two day's of her vacation in the hospital. She saved a few bucks only to spend thousands. I am never taking that type of chance, vacation or not. If something, anything goes wrong I want to be covered.

I have traveled quite a bit over the years and never felt the need for travel insurance. Most of the time everything went well. A friend of mine was not that lucky. She planned an elaborate trip to Europe to see Italy, Germany and Switzerland and it was a very expensive trip. She told me that she never goes on a trip like that without buying travel insurance and she always buys it online. The last time she started her trip her baggage was lost at the very start of the trip and she had to shop for clothes at every stop she made in her travels. It certainly was a huge inconvenience but at the end of the trip she was paid for everything she had bought and also for everything that was in her luggage. Replacing all those things would have been very costly for her and she would not have been able to afford to do it without insurance.
I am going on a trip very soon and I have gone on line to compare travel insurance and have found it is very reasonable and worth buying for the peace of mind. I have also bought trip cancellation insurance just in case something unforeseen happens and I can't take the trip.

I am always learning things from my family it seems, things that I will apply to my own life to make everything that much easier! My older brother, David, most recently taught me the best lesson about traveling that I have ever learned: always buy trip cancellation insurance! He had a huge and lengthy trip planned to Hawaii, and he had to cancel the trip because he got really sick a day before he was supposed to leave! He was wise and purchased some trip cancellation insurance online before booking the trip. If he had not, he would have lost a ton of money, because the cancellation policy dictates that you owe them around fifteen percent of the trip costs for last minute cancellations. But thanks to the valuable trip cancellation insurance policy that he purchased online when thinking ahead, he got his entire trip monies refunded to use for another vacation at a different time, when he was feeling better. You can bet after hearing about that, that I will always have trip cancellation insurance for any vacations I plan on taking in the future!

Watching the news media on any given day is not exactly the most positive experience. If it isn’t one natural disaster to virus outbreak there is something having to do with terrorist plots. I like to just push mute and silence all the negativity. My girlfriend was telling me about a vacation horror story, which actually turned out on a positive note because of travelers insurance. As the story was told one of the guys she works with went to Costa Rica a month ago for vacation. He went with a friend and the both were pumped to see monkeys. After getting there and having a cab driver take them to their hotel, the unthinkable happened. From how I understand it, the cab driver brought them to their hotel and after they paid and got out, the driver through it in gear and shot out of there with the two friend’s luggage still in the back. Whether or not the guy knew he still had their luggage is up for debate.

Bottom line is the first few hours in Costa Rica their entire wardrobe was lost. I don’t know about the friend but the guy who works with my girlfriend had travelers insurance. After a call to the insurance agent, a claim was filed and he received cash for his lost clothes once back. I guess he wasn’t to mad because it was an opportunity to buy a new wardrobe.

Debating Travelers Insurance on First Time Foreign Trip

After the lease expires on my apartment, I have been planning a trip over to Europe for an indefinite amount of time. I say indefinite because I plan to buy a one way to London and then take it from there, roaming hostel to hostel. I have never been out of the country past Canada and Mexican border towns and just feel like it is time to do this. Before stepping knee deep into corporate America I want to see what else is out there in the world. I’m tired of hearing other people’s amazing stories and nudges to see the world. What I am not sure about is whether or not to get travelers insurance.

I know it is the smart decision but considering I don’t have a set game plan, more of the happy wanderer approach, I’m not sure if travelers insurance would be too expensive. There is cheap travel insurance out there and if I do sign up for some it has to be affordable. My mom really wants me to get it just in case an emergency occurs. Knowing her, she will book the travelers insurance for me if I don’t. I might just work a couple more weeks to pay the cheap travel insurance difference. It can’t hurt.
