Travel Insurance Saves the Day for Our Cancelled Cruise |

This is a picture of where I planned to be this weekend but a sudden illness ks keeping my family at home. Fortunately, we bought cheap travel insurance so our trip will be refunded. What a smart thing that was. We add the cheap travel insurance after we found out that it was inexpensive and would cover us for medical emergencies. One of the kids got really sick, ended up in the ER, and will spend the next few days recovering. This was a cruise package and fortunately, the website where we booked it recommended that their customers get trip cancellation insurance. We booked the cruise at a discount, but when everything was added up in terms of money we were spending, we felt that it would be a good idea to spend a few bucks more and insure our trip in case we had to cancel. Boy, are we relieved we did. We'll get a complete refund and take the cruise later on. This is the first time we've used travel insurance, but we will from now on when a trip costs us over $1,000 and there is more than just a nonrefundable flight involved. |
