travel insuranceOne of the least expensive things for traveling that can have a huge payoff is travel insurance. I was helping my mom book a trip recently and insisted that she get travel insurance because her health can be unpredictable. She has a bad back and when it goes out, travel is out of the question. I've been using travel insurance for the same reason, too, and more than once, I've had to cash in a few tickets because my back is bad. I'd love to find a miracle cure for a bad back, but until I do, travel insurance is in my and my mom's future.

Since I've had such good experiences with travel insurance, I will not go anywhere without it and am recommending that all the people who are planning to come visit us this winter. If their flight gets canceled by bad weather or they get a cold, they can cash out on the insurance policy and really cut their losses. Of course, they will be missed, but they can always come when the weather settles down, to come down and enjoy warm, sunny weather, and some great food and shopping.
