Finding cheap travel insurance is not a problem anymore with the continual rise of this market. Online sources and travel agents have long lists of possible choices that can cater to just about every need, for the right price of course. According to the U.S. Travel Insurance Association, since 2001 the amount of Americans purchasing travelers insurance is up 40 percent. Remember that if a trip is purchased on a credit and unforeseeable events occur that do not allow you to travel, the credit card company will not repay the loss; this is why trip cancellation insurance can be so important.
When traveling in domestic regions, remember that hotels will generally reimburse stay fees as long as the room is cancelled by 6 pm. This common refund clause does not count for most resorts and at least one night will have to be paid. Airlines always charge a fee to reschedule flights, which is usually 50 dollars on top of any price differences seen between the changed ticket. Avoiding all of these extra charges is where travelers comes in.
