Travel Insurance: Why? |
| 7/1/2008 5:02:32 AM |
Some people think travel insurance is a complete waste of money. They spend money on buying the insurance, but never use it. Well, this is pretty much the case with any type of insurance. Think about it, we spend money every month to pay health insurance premiums, car insurance, homeowners insurance, and so forth. If you don’t have a claim, you waste thousands of dollars each year. Still, insurances offer peace of mind. That way, you don’t have to obsess over the unexpected.
Travel insurance offers similar protection. Let’s say you’ve planned this fabulous family or couple’s vacation, in which it took three years to save money for the airfare, hotel, entertainment, and so forth. Then, three days before your departure date, an emergency occurs. Without travel insurance, you may lose some of your money. Yeah, you can always book another hotel room; but, what about the airfare?
In the past year airlines have tighten their guidelines. Missing a flight and rescheduling your departure time will cost you. In addition, if you’re unable to catch a cruise ship due to a flight delay, you may lose all your money. In either case, travel insurance results in a complete refund, and you can travel at a later date.
