I just blogged about traveling to one of my favorite destinations in Italy, Cinque Terra, when I saw this site.  So I thought it would be nice to follow up with some thoughts about travelers insurance if you take that trip.

To be honest, I didn't have any travelers insurance when I went but I guess it wouldn't hurt to talk to an insurance agent about it and get a few insurance quotes to see what it would ad on to the cost of your trip.  If it isn't much, why not go for it?  If you can get some cheap travel insurance that will cover your belongings and reimburse you for a number of things that could happen it seems to make sense.

One thing that I could have benefited from on my trip was cancellation insurance.  That is where you are covered for the cost if you have to miss a flight.  I ended up having to miss a flight and lost the airfare.  Had I had cancellation insurance I would have been a lot happier.

So if having insurance leads you to a happier vacation and you can afford it, why not do it?
