Travel Insurance for a Cruise Vacation |

Cruise vacations are a great way to unwind and visit a variety of different places. While most people are eager to take a cruise, many are less inclined to consider the importance of travel insurance. I've been on three cruise vacations, yet, I've only purchased travel insurance once. Before, I saw insurance as a waste of money. Besides, the cruise ship will reimburse the full cost up to 60 days prior to the sail date. What I failed to take into account is that unforeseen circumstances can take place within 60 days of the cruise date.
I once knew someone who broke their leg two days before their scheduled cruise date. I've heard of situations where a person's flight was severely delayed, and they were unable to board the ship prior to departure. In each case, the person's involved didn't have travel insurance for their cruise vacation. While the cruise ship took their special circumstances into consideration and offered a partial reimbursement, these individuals lost hundreds of dollars. Rather than take the "it can't happen to me approach," I've decided to back all my cruise vacations with travel insurance.
